The Glenn & Viola Walters Cultural Arts Center is a multi-use arts and performance venue in downtown Hillsboro, Oregon.
Members nominate on an online form, members vote, and the awards are presented at dinner.
The awards
What each award is for, and who can win it.
- Recent Enhancement Project of the Year A business.
- Spirit of Forest Grove/Cornelius A business, civic organization or nonprofit, for its contributions to the community over the past year and its dedication to civic projects.
- Volunteer of the Year A person who has given hours of time and talent to the success and growth of the chamber, beyond ordinary volunteering.
- Rising Star A person, for creativity, imagination and personal initiative in running a successful business venture that has made a positive impact on the community.
- New Business of the Year A business that opened within the past three years and became a real part of the community by supporting local organizations and the chamber.
- Small Business of the Year A business with fewer than twenty employees that contributes to economic growth and quality of life here.
- Non-Profit / Service Organization of the Year A nonprofit or service organization getting significant results for the community through creative partnerships with other nonprofits, businesses, the chamber and civic organizations.
- Lifetime Achievement A person or a business that gives back year after year, has improved Forest Grove or Cornelius, and moves other people to get involved.
