Pacific University added the health professions from 1945 onward.
Education is one of the historic cornerstones in Forest Grove, which is home to the oldest chartered university in the West.
Pacific expanded into the health professions in 1945 through a merger with the Pacific Northwest College of Optometry, then added physical therapy in 1975, occupational therapy in 1984 and professional psychology in 1985. The College of Education was established in 1995 and physician assistant studies a year later.
