Geocache Workshop @ Hagg Lake

What is Geocaching? Geocaching is a type of global treasure hunt of people looking for caches, or hidden stashes of objects. Geocaching may also be described as a series of hide-and-seek games, where hiders provide online clues for seekers. Seekers use global positioning system (GPS) devices to find hidden caches. Geocaching events are a playful adventure for groups of all sizes. With the help of GPS devices, team spirit, and brain, modern treasure hunters navigate to hidden and secret places that hold intelligent challenges and puzzles. Geocaching fosters team work to reach a common goal and provides an opportunity to spend time recreating outdoors.

Hagg Lake is home to several caches, and for this special event, we'll be adding special (temporary) caches at the park.

Participants will need to have a cell phone with the appropriate version of the Geocaching app downloaded to their phone prior to entering the park, where cell phone coverage is limited. This free app is available for both Apple and Android phones.

Geocaching is an activity fun for kids of all ages. However, the Geocaching app requires users to be 16 and older, otherwise their parents or guardians must own and manage their accounts.

Please come prepared for varied weather with rain gear, sturdy shoes, water, and snacks.

$5 fee registration. Kids under 12 are free. Parking sold separately.

Courses are not eligible for refunds, unless cancelled or rescheduled by WashCo Parks.
