Cornelius City Council Work Session & Regular Session

The City Council Work Session begins at 6:00 PM, followed by the Regular Session at 7:00 PM. The Work Session provides an opportunity for discussion and staff presentations, while the Regular Session is when the Council takes formal action. *Meetings and start times may change as the meeting approaches and City needs evolve. The calendar event will be updated when changes occur.

City Council Meetings

 The City Council meets regularly to discuss and make decisions on matters affecting the community. Meetings are generally held in two formats:

Work Sessions are informal meetings where Council discusses upcoming issues, receives presentations, and provides direction to staff. No final action is taken during work sessions.

Regular Sessions are formal meetings where the Council deliberates and takes official action on items such as ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other business.

Members of the community are welcome to attend City Council meetings in person or virtually by Zoom. Meetings are also broadcast on government programming through TVCTV. Specific details, including meeting times, Zoom links, and agenda items, are available on the published agenda one week before the meeting.
