WasabiFest
Experience Wasabi as Never Before
Beyond the heat lies a world of technical precision and natural wonder. While wasabi is traditionally cultivated in the cool, shaded stream beds of Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, a pioneering spirit has brought this craft to our own backyard—thriving right here on the Oregon Coast.
Join us for WasabiFest 2026, a celebration of this extraordinary ingredient. From the refined soul of premium saké to the bold imagination of Oregon’s top culinary minds, immerse yourself in a day of discovery.
Witness the artistry of Seisuke’s Japanese knife demonstrations, and step into the kitchen for master-level workshops led by Jeff Kim and Kate Koo—featuring specialized fish butchery with the experts from Aji and Zilla Saké. Between bites, experience the thunderous energy of Takohachi taiko drumming or test your limits in our exhilarating wasabi-eating contest. Whether you’re competing for a handmade Seisuke grater or meeting Wally Wasabi with the family, WasabiFest is a tribute to the grit, flavor, and independent heart of Oregon.
